Attorney Christopher W. Konya is an associate on our asbestos team, focusing his practice on helping individuals and families affected by mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases.
In his role at SWMW Law, Christopher investigates cases, takes depositions, and argues motions. He also assists with personal-injury matters as needed.
A native of Millstadt, Illinois, Christopher uses his small-town upbringing to give clients a no-nonsense advocate in the courtroom.
“I grew up in a small farming community alongside hardworking, blue-collar workers – very similar to the clients we represent,” Christopher said. “Our clients worked hard to provide for their families and deserve an advocate that understands them and communicates as straightforward as possible. I’m proud to be able to provide that.”
Christopher’s passion for helping others was ignited when he was exposed to The Innocence Project in college.
“I witnessed so many people who weren’t being heard, who deserved justice, and I knew I needed to do my part,” he said. “Amplifying the voices of the unheard and holding accountable the companies who harmed them is a privilege – one I put my whole heart into.”
Prior to joining SWMW Law, Christopher first served as a judicial law clerk in the Third Judicial Circuit of Illinois where he handled complex civil matters. He then joined a nationally recognized law firm as a criminal-defense attorney. While in law school, he worked with the Chief Judge of the Southern District of Illinois.
When he’s not practicing law, Christopher plays guitar for the Bobby Ford Band in St. Louis. In addition to playing regularly around the city, the band also opens for national country artists who are on tour.
