SWMW Law Associate Christopher Konya Named to Top 40 Under 40 in Missouri by The National Trial Lawyers

Associate Attorney Christopher Konya

SWMW Law, one of the top plaintiffs law firms in the country focusing on representing victims of mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases, as well as individuals harmed by drugs, medical devices, environmental and toxic exposures, and consumer fraud, is proud to announce associate attorney Christopher Konya has been named to The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 - Civil Plaintiff for the state of Missouri.

“Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our asbestos and mesothelioma practice. His inherent compassion and fierce advocacy on behalf of our clients is unmatched and makes him well-deserving of this honor,” said Member Ben Schmickle. “His worth to our firm, our clients, and his fellow colleagues is immeasurable, and we are proud to have him on our team.”

Membership in the NTL Top 40 Under 40 is by invitation only and is limited to the top 40 attorneys in each state who have demonstrated excellence and have achieved outstanding results in their careers in either civil plaintiff or criminal defense law. The selection process for this honor is based on a multi-phase process which includes peer nominations combined with third-party research.

Konya joined SWMW Law in 2021 as an associate in the firm’s asbestos practice where he represents individuals and families affected by mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases. He also assists with personal-injury matters as needed. A Millstadt, Illinois native, Konya uses his small-town upbringing and passion for helping others to ensure clients know they have a relatable and dependable advocate on their side.

“I’m incredibly grateful and humbled to receive this honor,” Konya said. “I’m proud of my track record as an attorney, but even more proud to stand beside the clients I represent. They worked their entire lives to provide for their families and were irreparably and needlessly harmed in the process. For me, amplifying their voices and securing them the justice they deserve is the biggest honor of all.”

Konya is licensed to practice in Illinois and Missouri. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his J.D. from the Southern Illinois University School of Law – Carbondale. Outside of his work with clients, Konya uses his love of music to support Building Hope in Kids – Uganda, a nonprofit that builds and supports primary schools in Uganda. He recently donated five musical instruments to the school’s music program to help enhance the lives of students there.
