Employee Spotlight – Meet Lauren Lohman

Lauren Lohman

How long have you been with SWMW Law?

I’ve been here for 7 years. I started in the fall of 2015 as a paralegal in the Intake Department and was promoted to Intake Manager in the summer of 2019.

What does your position entail?

My team and I handle all the cases that are coming and going through the office. When someone first contacts the firm, we are often the first people they speak with. We gather the necessary information to evaluate their potential claim. Our intake team helps clients complete necessary paperwork, provides case updates, and works closely with other departments in the firm to ensure timely review and file management.

What’s the best part about your job?

I’ve always enjoyed working one-on-one with our clients. Talking with them on the phone, forging relationships, getting to know them and their families – it’s the best part of my job. We get to know our clients on a personal level and help them feel comfortable with the legal process. The connection we form is important to me. Being the first line of defense in helping to right the wrongs is an honor and something I really take pride in doing daily.

What are some experiences you’ve had at the firm that really resonate with you?

There have been several instances where I’ve been able to meet clients face-to-face; either during the sign-up process or even out in the community. It’s always special to me when I’m able to meet clients in person and put a face to the name.

What would you like clients to know about you?

Family is very important to me. I’m married with two young children and a big white lab that we all love. In my spare time, I love reading (my favorite author is John Grisham), camping with my family, and being outdoors whenever I can.

What’s something others would be surprised to know about you?

One day when I win the lottery, I’d like to own a Sonic Drive-In franchise. I worked there for my first job during high school – I wore the roller-skates and everything. I did run into cars a couple of times, so it really wasn’t meant to be. But it made for some fun memories.
