SWMW Law’s commitment to their clients reached new heights over the weekend as attorneys and staff conquered the tallest building in St. Louis during the American Lung Association’s (ALA) Fight for Air Climb.

The ALA’s signature fundraising event, the Fight for Air Climb invited participants to climb the steps of One Metropolitan Square in Downtown St. Louis to raise money and awareness for the millions of individuals who are battling lung disease and literally fighting for air. The theme for Team SWMW Law this year was “Climbing for our Clients.”

“A majority of our clients are affected by lung disease caused by exposure to asbestos,” said Partner Sophie Zavaglia, who spearheaded the firm’s participation in the event. “The inability to breathe is a terrifying and painful experience for the people we represent. It was important for us to have that perspective, honor their struggles, and show our support.”

Zavaglia joined 11 others in climbing the 42 flights of stairs, including Associate Stephanie Gold, Member Lauren Williams, Lauren Lohman, Courtney Gass, William Jones, Stacy Berding, Joe Jordan, Associate Jonathon Forbes, Leslie McCray, Associate Nathan Livingston and Associate Ben McIntosh.

More than 600 climbers participated in this year’s event, raising $250,000 for the ALA and its important initiatives.
