We’ll do all the work, research, and paperwork so you can focus on your health and your family.
In the name of profit, pharmaceutical companies have rushed drugs or medical devices to the market that cause adverse side effects, injuries and illnesses. We hold these companies accountable and fight to recover compensation for medical bills, expenses and lost income, as well as your pain and suffering. And we’ll get you the money you’re owed as quickly as possible. Because People Matter.
Dangerous or Defective Drugs
Contaminated Drugs: These drugs may be contaminated with harmful substances during the manufacturing process, such as bacteria, fungi, or foreign particles.
Unsafe Formulations: Some drugs may have formulations that make them inherently dangerous or prone to causing adverse reactions in certain individuals.
Design Defects: Drugs with design defects may be inherently unsafe, either due to the active ingredients used or the way they interact with the body.
Mislabeling or Misbranding: Incorrect labeling or inadequate warnings about potential side effects can lead to patients using the drug without being aware of the associated risks.
Incomplete Testing or Insufficient Research: Drugs that have not undergone thorough testing or have insufficient research to determine their safety and efficacy may pose risks to consumers.
Withdrawn Drugs: Drugs that have been withdrawn from the market due to safety concerns but are still in circulation due to various reasons, such as recalls or inadequate communication to healthcare providers and patients.
Off-Label Use: When drugs are prescribed for uses not approved by regulatory authorities, it can increase the risk of adverse reactions due to lack of sufficient evidence for safety and efficacy in those specific conditions.
Addiction and Dependence: Certain drugs, particularly those with addictive properties such as opioids or benzodiazepines, can lead to dependence, abuse, and adverse health effects.
Delayed Side Effects: Some drugs may have side effects that only become apparent after prolonged use, leading to unexpected health complications.
Drug Interactions: Drugs that interact negatively with other medications, substances, or medical conditions can pose serious risks to patients' health.
Dangerous or Defective Medical Devices
Faulty Implants: Implants such as hip replacements, pacemakers, or breast implants may have design flaws or manufacturing defects that can lead to device failure, tissue damage, or other complications.
Defective Surgical Instruments: Surgical instruments like scalpels, forceps, or retractors may have defects that compromise their functionality or sterility, increasing the risk of surgical complications or infections.
Malfunctioning Electronic Devices: Electronic medical devices such as infusion pumps, defibrillators, or ventilators may malfunction due to software glitches, electrical issues, or design flaws, putting patients' lives at risk.
Contaminated Devices: Medical devices that come into contact with the body, such as catheters, endoscopes, or surgical meshes, may be contaminated during manufacturing or packaging, leading to infections or other adverse reactions.
Unsafe Materials: Some medical devices may contain materials that are harmful to patients, such as toxic chemicals or allergens, which can cause allergic reactions, tissue damage, or systemic toxicity.
Misleading Labeling or Instructions: Incorrect or inadequate labeling and instructions for use can lead to improper device placement or usage, increasing the risk of complications or injuries.
Inadequate Testing or Clinical Trials: Medical devices that have not undergone rigorous testing or clinical trials to assess their safety and efficacy may pose unknown risks to patients.
Recalled Devices: Devices that have been recalled from the market due to safety concerns but are still in use due to various reasons, such as delays in communication or implementation of the recall.
Biocompatibility Issues: Devices implanted in the body may trigger immune responses or tissue reactions due to biocompatibility issues, leading to inflammation, pain, or device rejection.
Inaccurate Diagnostic Devices: Diagnostic devices such as blood glucose monitors or imaging equipment may provide inaccurate results due to calibration errors or design flaws, leading to misdiagnosis and inappropriate treatment.

Taxotere
We’re investigating whether the manufacturer, Sanofi-Aventis, engaged in illegal practices to boost sales, while hiding the drug’s negative side effects. A former Sanofi-Aventis employee blew the whistle on the company’s marketing practices, which claims they misrepresented the safety and efficacy of the drug and provided kickbacks to doctors who prescribed it. This scheme provided Sanofi-Aventis with an exponential profit, bringing in $1.4 billion in just four years. Their desire for profits was more important than any concern for the patient’s well-being.

Philips Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)
Philips Respironics, Inc. manufactures and distributes CPAP machines to treat sleep apnea. Unfortunately, many of these machines have been found to contain design defects that can cause serious health issues for users. These defective devices are dangerous because they can leak carbon dioxide into the user’s airway, leading to respiratory problems or even death in some cases. Additionally, the noise from the machine has been known to disrupt sleep patterns and lead to insomnia or other sleeping disorders.
Because of these safety concerns, numerous lawsuits have been filed against Philips by individuals who have experienced adverse effects due to their use of CPAP machines manufactured by the company. If you or a loved one suffered health complications after using one of these devices, reach out to SWMW Law to explore your legal options. We can help you hold Philips accountable and fight to secure the compensation you need to move forward.
IVC Filters are cage-like metal devices implanted in the veins of people for a brief period of time to catch blood clots before they reach the lungs. It’s been found that the manufacturer of Truvada, Gilead Scientific, knew about the serious problems and almost immediately crafted a new, safer drug without the known side effects. However, the alternative drug was not released until the patent ran out on this less-safe HIV drug.
If you believe Truvada could be the cause of you or a loved ones diagnosis of the above conditions, we encourage you to speak to one of SWMW Law’s experienced personal injury attorneys. It’s clear this company put profits over patient safety and they should be held accountable.

Juul Vaping Products
If you or your child has suffered adverse health consequences after using Juul products, we encourage you to reach out to SWMW Law. We are currently taking cases involving harm caused by these products and can fight to get you the compensation you deserve.
Juul vaping products are electronic cigarette devices that contain disposable cartridges filled with nicotine-laced e-liquid that can be inhaled as an aerosol or “vapor.” This vapor is intended to deliver a dose of nicotine each time it is used, which encourages users to become addicted. In addition to the highly addictive properties of nicotine, Juul “pods” come in a variety of flavors, such as mint, mango, and crème brulée, which are designed to appeal to younger users who are unaware of the health risks associated with vaping.
Although Juul has advertised its products as a safer alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes, research has shown that even small amounts of vapors produced by Juul devices can lead to long-term lung damage and other serious health issues such as heart disease and cancer. In fact, Juul pods contain more than twice the amount of nicotine as in other e-cigarettes. As a result of these potential hazards and Juul’s aggressive marketing tactics that target vulnerable populations including children and adolescents, several states have banned or restricted the sale and marketing of flavored e-cigarettes.
