SWMW Law Paralegal Volunteers with ‘Wills for Heroes’ Event

Four women smiling and posing together indoors at a table. Two women are seated in front, one wearing glasses and a black polo shirt with a name tag that reads "Lisa Bloomfield," and the other wearing glasses, a black vest over a white long-sleeve shirt, with a name tag that reads "Roxanne Morris." Behind them stand two women, one with short dark hair wearing a black jacket, and the other with blonde hair in a ponytail wearing a black hoodie with a logo and a name tag that reads "Paige." The background shows a room with wood-paneled walls and other people seated at tables.

In honor of Veterans Day this year, Sarah Stofko (top left), a litigation paralegal in the firm’s Pittsburgh office, volunteered with “Wills for Heroes,” an event sponsored by the Allegheny County Bar Association – Young Lawyers Division. The event brings together attorneys, notaries, and witnesses to draft estate-planning documents free-of-charge for area veterans – including wills, living wills, and powers of attorney – giving them peace of mind about their future and saving them hundreds of dollars in the process.

A notary for more than 25 years, this is the second “Wills for Heroes” event where Sarah has volunteered her time to help the heroes in her community. The first event – on Sept. 11, 2022 – provided the same service for first responders.

“I come from a military family – my grandfather, father, uncles, and my husband all served. It’s an honor to able to give back to the men and women who put everything on the line. It’s the least I can do.”

Sarah is a great example of how our firm’s attorneys and support staff are as committed to our communities as we are to our clients. #BecausePeopleMatter
