Attorney Aislinn M. Zimmerman is an associate at SWMW Law in its Pittsburgh office. She joined the firm in 2026, focusing her practice on helping individuals and families affected by mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases.

For Aislinn, practicing law is about more than understanding the legal system. It’s about using that knowledge to stand up for people who need someone in their corner. Driven by a lifelong desire to help others, she has dedicated herself to becoming an advocate for individuals and families facing difficult circumstances, particularly those whose lives have been impacted by the actions of powerful corporations.

“I’ve always believed that everyone deserves someone willing to fight for them, regardless of who they’re up against,” Aislinn said. “I knew early on that I wanted to represent individuals rather than corporations. People deserve to have their voices heard, their stories taken seriously, and someone standing beside them who genuinely cares about the outcome.”

Aislinn brings enthusiasm, determination, and a compassionate approach to her work at SWMW Law. She understands that for individuals diagnosed with mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases, pursuing legal action often comes during an incredibly difficult and uncertain time. Her goal is to help ease that burden by ensuring clients feel supported, respected, and confident that their cases are being handled with the attention they deserve.

“To me, a client is never just a case number or a file on my desk,” Aislinn said. “Every person we represent has a life, a family, and a story that deserves to be heard. I want my clients to know that their case matters to me because they matter to me. I’ll bring the same passion, care, and determination to their fight that I would want someone to bring to my own family’s.”

Aislinn earned her Juris Doctor from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University in 2026. During law school, she distinguished herself through her leadership, commitment to service, and dedication to advancing opportunities for women in the legal profession.

From 2024 to 2026, she served in leadership roles with Duquesne’s Women’s Law Association, first as secretary and later as president. During her tenure, she helped support the organization’s community outreach and charitable initiatives, including volunteer efforts assisting women transitioning back into society following incarceration at the Allegheny County Jail. Through this work, Aislinn gained an even deeper appreciation for the importance of compassion, second chances, and ensuring vulnerable individuals have access to the resources and support they need.

In recognition of her accomplishments and commitment to the legal profession, Aislinn received the prestigious 2026 National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Law Student Award for the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University. The recognition reflects the leadership, dedication, and passion for advocacy that continue to shape her approach to practicing law.

Aislinn is also an active member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and its Women in Law Division, where she remains connected to the legal community and the advancement of women in the profession.

Throughout her academic and professional journey, Aislinn has remained committed to plaintiff advocacy. Her passion for representing individuals rather than corporate interests is rooted in her belief that the legal system should provide meaningful opportunities for justice, especially when the balance of power seems overwhelmingly unequal.

That philosophy aligns closely with SWMW Law’s mission of putting people first. As she begins her legal career with the firm, Aislinn hopes to bring fresh energy, a strong work ethic, and an unwavering commitment to advocating for clients and their families.

“One of the things I love most about being at SWMW Law is knowing that the work we do can make a real difference in someone’s life,” Aislinn said. “I get to come to work alongside people who share that same passion for helping others. That’s incredibly motivating, and it reminds me every day why I wanted to become an attorney in the first place.”

For Aislinn, the most rewarding part of her profession is knowing that her efforts can help bring a sense of justice, reassurance, and hope to people navigating some of life’s greatest challenges. She approaches that responsibility with gratitude, recognizing that earning a client’s trust is both a privilege and a responsibility she never takes lightly.
