SWMW Law, one of the top plaintiffs law firms in the country focused on representing victims of mesothelioma, asbestos-related diseases, and other toxic exposures is proud to announce Partner Patrick O’Brien has been elected treasurer of the Academy of Rail Labor Attorneys (ARLA).
“For more than three decades, I’ve dedicated my practice to representing railroad workers harmed by negligence and toxic exposures,” O’Brien said. “Being elected treasurer of ARLA is not only a tremendous professional honor, but also a reflection of the relationships and shared mission that unite attorneys across this field. I’m proud to help support an organization devoted to protecting workers and advancing advocacy nationwide.”
ARLA was established in 1989 to help counter legislative threats to the Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA). Its primary objectives are to promote rail safety for the traveling public and safe working conditions and standards for railroad employees.
A member of ARLA’s Board of Governors since 2020, O’Brien was elected treasurer earlier this month and will serve a term of one year.
O’Brien joined SWMW Law in 2024, focusing his practice on representing the rights of injured railroad workers, as well as representing those who have sustained catastrophic injuries. He’s earned the reputation of being one of the country’s premier FELA attorneys with decades of experience fighting for the rights of those injured through their work with the railroad. His expertise within this niche practice area has established him as a formidable and tenacious advocate for his clients, resulting in significant verdicts and settlements over his 40-year career.
